Deliberate Life 2024
One of the highlights of the Senior Year at Brookstone is the Deliberate Life Presentations! Inspired by a quote from Henry David Thoreau’s book, Walden, the purpose of the Deliberate Life Project is to provide each scholar with an opportunity to develop a meaningful and self-directed project in an area of personal interest. Thoreau wrote, “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach.”
While the Senior Speech has been a long-standing rite of passage for our seniors, slight adjustments to this hallmark event have been made over the past few years to focus more on the process. These adjustments were met with enthusiasm and positivity, and we have continued with this format this year as well. Seniors have spent the last several months working on their projects, and we loved hearing their presentations.
Also, a special thank you to our Alumni Association that brought Chik-Fil-A biscuits to our seniors afterward! It was a fun little way to celebrate the morning! After all, they are ALMOST Brookstone Alumni!
Congratulations, Class of 2023, on successfully completing this Brookstone milestone!
