Upper School Students Doing Great Things!

It is our privilege to highlight four Upper School students for their work outside of school and in our community. We are growing a generation of leaders here at Brookstone School and they continually make us proud.

Ayomide Oloyede

Ayomide, a senior and Head Boy Prefect, recently started a project called “Project Lunchtime” where he partners with local restaurants to save food from going in the trash. With the help of a local ministry, the food is put into to-go boxes and delivered to the homeless, elderly, and needy. In the first 20 days of operation, they saved over 400 pounds of food from being thrown away unnecessarily. If you are interested in helping or wish to get involved, please let us know and we can get you connected!

We are so proud of you, Ayo!

Katie Shaw

Girl Scout and 10th-grade student, Katie Shaw, is working on her Gold Award Project to build and stock “Little Free Libraries” in the North Highland Community in Columbus. Her goal is to get books into the hands of children – especially since the libraries are closed due to COVID-19. Way to go, Katie!

If you are interested in helping to stock the Free Little Libraries, please reach out to TruthSpring Academy (706-987-0547).

BJ Tillman

Senior BJ Tillman, our Upper School Communications Prefect, continues her efforts to get youth registered to vote with her “Your Voice Your Vote” initiative. This past weekend, they were featured in the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer and assisted by fellow Cougars Kira Williams and Charity McWilliams. We are so proud of you girls!

Jordan Brown

Lastly, we want to spotlight senior Jordan Brown. We are always impressed when our Cougars turn their passion into action. In this case, it turned out to be a video to shed light on racial injustice.

Watch this segment on WTVM featuring Jordan. We are so proud of you!

Like I said, we are raising the next generation of leaders here at Brookstone School. We are so incredibly proud of these students and cannot wait to see what the future holds for them! Keep doing what you do and you will change the world!
