One School – Many Stories

For the past three years, Brookstone School has honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with Make your Mark week in 2019, Voices of Change week in 2021, and Leading with Love Week in 2022. This year’s theme will be One School: Many Stories as we celebrate the various cultural backgrounds of our Brookstone family, along with kindness, equality, and positive contributions to society. We were thankful for all of the beautiful entries for our Celebrating Cultures: One School, Many Stories mural contest. We received submissions from students in every division, and all of the thoughtful designs were […]

Mack Strong Stadium Dedication

It was such an incredibly special day in Brookstone’s history as we dedicated the Mack Strong Stadium on September 16, 2022. It was even more special because Mack Strong was here in person on campus. He spent the day talking with students, leading the Pep Rally, holding a press conference, and visiting with the football team. You can watch some of the press conference by clicking here! As Jason Branch, former teammate and current Brookstone parent said at the half time dedication ceremony, “For all that Mack has accomplished on this field, and […]

Lower School Week of Service

Lower School Week of Service was a wonderful week! Our kindergarteners visited our neighbors next door at Brookside Glen. Our first grade students visited Open Door to learn more about programs that support homeless women and children as well as the after-school program. Our second graders spent time with friends at Easter Seals and collected art supplies for their arts program. And our third graders visited the Ronald McDonald House and created welcome bags for their residents. Thank you to all of our parents who helped support these endeavors. We […]

Month of the Military Child 2022

April is the Month of the Military Child, a time to honor the sacrifices made by military families worldwide with an emphasis on the experience of the dependent children of military members serving at home and overseas.  As part of our Month of the Military Child celebration, which included a special breakfast, Purple Up! Day, and more, students learned that the dandelion is the official flower of the military child. Do you know why? The dandelion can put down roots almost anywhere and thrive. They adapt easily and stand ready to fly into breezes that take them to […]

Servant Leadership Update

Congratulations to sophomore Katie Shaw for recently winning the Girl Scout Gold Award! This award is the highest and most prestigious award in Girl Scouting, comparable to the Boy Scouts of America’s Eagle Scout. Since 1916, Girl Scouts have been making meaningful, sustainable change in their communities and around the world. The Gold Award is awarded to fewer than 6% of Girl Scouts annually, and each Gold Award Girl Scout spends 1 – 2 years on her project. Approximately one million Girl Scouts have earned the Gold Award or its […]
