For the past two years, Brookstone’s Agri-Colga Club, which manages the vegetable gardens outside our cafeteria, has been going to Fox Elementary School every Tuesday after school to develop an on-campus garden. Working together with the same group of 4th and 5th graders, the students have built six raised beds at Fox and have implemented planting and harvest plans, teaching the students how to plant and grow their own vegetables. On the 13th annual Upper School Day of Service, as our students were spread across the community in partnership with local organizations, our seniors had a special service opportunity as they worked in our own Lower and Intermediate school classrooms with students. On the Friday before Spring Break, we held our annual 13th annual Upper School Day of Service. And what a wonderful day it was! Our 9th and 11th Grade classes worked with organizations across the Columbus area, including Open Door, Feeding the Valley, Truth Springs Academy, The Boys and Girls Club, Columbus Dream Center, Fox Elementary School, Damascus Way, Valley Rescue Mission, and Girls’ Inc.
