This past week the Board of Trustees of Brookstone School announced the launch of the Blanchard Leadership Institute. Brookstone has long held a foundational commitment to provide students endless opportunities to grow and thrive, to offer innovative processes that powerfully impact learning, to have a personal approach in all it does, and to always make sure people, families, our community, matter most. The Blanchard Leadership Institute will not only deepen these commitments but will provide students, faculty, and staff a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth, enabling them to […]
College counseling, just like so many other aspects of school, might look different this fall in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, but that doesn’t mean our counselors are any less committed to seeing our families through the process. In addition to “hosting” college admissions counselors who are meeting with our students via zoom on a weekly basis, the college office is committed to being there for parents, too. So if you are a parent of a member of the Class of 2021, we hope you will take advantage of the […]
Ms. Marie Clepper, a fixture in the Upper School for generations and beloved by all, has officially retired from Brookstone School. After 48 years of dedicated service, the ever youthful 88-year old mother and grandmother finally decided, “It’s time.” Ms. Clepper started her journey here at Brookstone in 1973 at the age of 40. At the time, she had three school-aged children and was looking for work that would align with their schedules so she took a position as a fourth-grade teacher’s aid. She served the school in several capacities […]
Good morning students, What is still very real to any adult in your life, you know 9/11/2001 only as part of your history, and it’s an important part. Ask any adult where they were that day and they will be able to vividly remember where they were when the news of the terrorist attacks started breaking. For me, I was entering my third year in the U.S.A. as an international student, playing tennis at CSU. I remember walking into my first class of the day with a few students who were […]
Wearing face masks has become a part of school life, it is important to know how to communicate effectively while wearing one. Alumna and current parent, Dr. Alice Cellino, Au.D., CCC-A, along with Dr. Susie Ford, Ph. At Brookstone, we care as much about our parents as we do our students and teachers. As such, CSHC created the video below just for parents that includes […]
