Senior/Faculty Competition
I could start every blog post with the words, “I love this school.” And I do.
The annual Senior/Faculty competition has given me just one more reason to do so.
Over the course of the last several weeks, the Upper School faculty and the senior class has been competing in a series of events. From basketball to board games and an assortment of contests in-between, this annual competition is more than frivolous fun. It is just one more example of what makes Brookstone so awesome.
I say this without hesitation – there is no faculty more fabulous than ours. They LOVE our kids. They invest in our kids. They are mentors, coaches, counselors and friends. They are everything you want for your child to have in a teacher and then some. They are brilliant educators, but also amazing people and they CARE about our kids. I am so grateful for them and for what they have built into my boys.
My oldest is a senior this year, heading off to the great UGA this fall, so this year’s senior/faculty competition has special meaning to me. (And just for the record, I think the seniors will squeak out a victory this year. Just barely, I might add, because our faculty are not only awesome, they are also highly competitive.) But as this year has slowly come to an end, I can think of no better way to celebrate this year, to solidify the bonds between faculty and student, bonds of friendship and respect, bonds of a shared experience and memories that will last a lifetime.
Because at Brookstone, we really are a family. And family is tight. So while these kids will graduate and move onto the next stage of their lives, they will come back. They will come back to campus to visit these teachers and talk about college and classes and majors. That’s the beauty of it. We talk about being relational, but it’s not just talk. It’s real.
So thank you, Brookstone faculty, for the work you do, for the fun you have and for the lives you change. We are forever grateful for the investment you are making in the lives of our kids.
