Super Bowl Shout Out
We are quite proud of our alumni around here, if you can’t tell by this blog!
So we just have to highlight a little something that arrived in our Upper School office this week:
A special edition 50th Anniversary Super Bowl football to honor our very own Mack Strong!
Mack, Class of 1989, played in the Super Bowl in 2005 when the Seattle Seahawks battled the Pittsburg Steelers.
He was also named to the Pro Bowl in 2005 and again in 2006.
So in honor of the 50th Superbowl, being played this year on Sunday, February 7th, the NFL sent a commemorative football to the highschool of every NFL player make a Super Bowl appearance. How cool is that?
And the timing could not have been more perfect because Mack HAPPENED to be in Columbus and was able to stop by for an impromptu visit. What an honor for him to be here and to sign the football and speak to our football team.
We were also thrilled to have beloved retired faculty members like Nan and Sam Pate stop by to see him, as well as his legendary football coach, Chico Lynch. It could not have been a more special time to have him here, however briefly.

He even took a picture with current football players who are the sons of Mack’s former teammates. So when we say we are family here at Brookstone, we really mean it.

Thank you, Mack, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to come visit us. We are so proud of you and all you have accomplished. Not only are you a great player, you are a a pretty amazing person, too. Grateful for you, Mack!
