Alumni Spotlight: Taylor Hollingsworth

Ask many of our alumni and they will tell you, the people, the community are what make Brookstone School such a special place. The coaches. The teachers. The students. There truly is such a thing as the Brookstone family.

Taylor Hollingsworth, a member of the Class of 2011, speaks to that in her spotlight video featured below.

After graduating from Brookstone, Taylor went on to join the Track team at the University of Georgia, where she was a double major in Nutrition Science and Spanish. A stellar athlete, she is also a stellar scholar, and is currently in her third year of medical school at the Mercer University School of Medicine.

Taylor is not the only scholar athlete in the ranks of our alumni. We invite you to learn more about other alums such as Prather Hudson, Brian Vogler, and Mack Strong.

And the future of Brookstone Athletics remains strong as we have more than 15 alumni currently playing college sports and three current seniors who have all recently signed to play at the Division 1 level.

We equally as proud of our alumni in the medical field. There are too many to even name, but we are proud of them all!

Grant Scarborough, Class of 1990, founder of Mercy Med, and Dr. Luke Wolff, Class of 1991, of St. Francis Orthopedics, are both Distinguished Alumni.

Then there is the younger generation of physicians such as Dr. Leland McCluskey, Class of 2008, and many others who are just getting their start in residency or who are already out there as practicing physicians.

Brookstone alumni are even making their mark before they are in medical school. Uma Alappan, Class of 2018, continues the work she began here at Brookstone now as an undergraduate student conducting research at the Emory School of Medicine.

And since it’s never too young to start, we pride ourselves on training up our very youngest in the medical field as our 3k students experience Doctor Day!

As Taylor says in her video, every day is an opportunity to excel and be a better version of yourself. At Brookstone, there is the expectation that our students will be a better version of themselves when they leave our campus.

That’s by design. That’s intentional.

And our alumni are proving it to be true each and every day.
