Spring Break Trip to Oxford, England!
Our students were BUSY over Spring Break! Many were traveling with families or enjoying a staycation at home, but one special group of seniors was able to go on the 19th annual trip to Oxford, England and stay at the Spencer House.
The Spencer House on Woodstock Road in Oxford, England is owned by Columbus State University. The purchase of the house was made possible through the generosity of Mr. & Mrs. J. Kyle Spencer, loyal supporters of both CSU and Brookstone School. In 2010, through guidance from Interim Headmaster Frank Brown, Brookstone entered into an arrangement to rent the Spencer House from the University during Spring Break. For the past 19 years, Brookstone seniors and faculty chaperones have enjoyed staying in this beautiful 1913 home near Oxford’s robust city center. This trip has earned the reputation as being the capstone of educational travel opportunities offered by the school.
Taking in all the sights of London, the enjoyed time at the British Museum, Christ Church Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Blenheim Palace, Camden Lock Market, and St. Paul’s Cathedral. They also got to attend a Queens Park Rangers Football Club game and a performance of Les Miserables!
In between all the sightseeing, they enjoyed time exploring beautiful Oxford and hanging out together at Spencer House. It was truly the trip of a lifetime.
We are so grateful to the Spencer family and to the continued partnership with CSU for allowing our students this incredible opportunity.
