Last week, on Wednesday, November 28th, a number of faculty and 50 students took part on a field trip to Montgomery, AL to visit the Legacy Museum followed by a visit at the Equal Justice Initiative (ELJ). EJI was founded by Bryan Stevenson, author of our 2018 all-school-read Just Mercy. Students were able to take in all the exhibits, visit with members of the EJI, and do some hands-on activities dealing with some very difficult topics. One of the highlights was being able to visit with Kuntrell Jackson, who was featured […]

Upper School Club Day was last week and it was a beautiful day on the quad to hold sign ups! One of the great things about Brookstone is the ability to be involved in a variety of activities! And with over 40 clubs to choose from, from academics to sports to the arts, there truly is something for everyone! Just to name a few, there’s a club for sign-language, coding, fishing, gardening, ornithology, investment, pre-med, music, dance, and school spirit to choose from. There’s even the Happy Club! Who doesn’t […]
We’re a few weeks into school, but we would be remiss not to remember all the fun had at our Freshman Retreat at the start of the year. All of our freshmen load up on buses with their Link Crew Leaders and Advisors and travel three hours north to Camp Mac in Munford, Alabama for three days of team building, fun, and adventure! With so many new freshmen entering high school, the Freshman Retreat serves an important purpose, integrating new students into the class, and it does so incredibly well! […]
Even though students might be out for Spring Break, that certainly doesn’t mean the learning ever stops! We had four groups of students traveling on official school trips that spanned the globe. One group of Upper School students set off on a College Tour. Over the course of the week, the 15 students and two college counselors traveled over 1,800 miles and visited 12 different colleges! They had special visits with the alumni attending these schools and even one special visit with a former faculty member! Every year at Spring […]

Below is a guest blog post about the trip written by junior Graham Wolff. When I signed up to go on the Zimbabwe trip, I really did not know what to expect. I wasn’t sure if there would be lions prowling around, dirt roads everywhere, big cities, or villages. But I decided to travel […]
