Month of the Military Child April 2020
April is the Month of the Military Child, a time to honor the sacrifices made by military families worldwide, with an emphasis on the experience of the dependent children of military members serving at home and overseas.
Columbus is a military community and many of our families have ties to Fort Benning, Georgia, so we take special pride in celebrating our military children!
Though we are physically distant right now, we still encouraged our families to wear purple for Purple Up! Day to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices.
We also wanted to share this special video from Brookstone alumni, Andrea Blair (2005), reading her new children’s book, Goodnight Soldier. Andrea has moved around the country after marrying her husband, Tim Blair, an active-duty soldier. Along with being a mother to her daughter, Adelaide, Andrea loves her role as an Army wife and is truly passionate about supporting fellow Army families. Visit her Facebook page for more information today!
April is not the only month that we celebrate our military kiddos! Just a few months ago we were able to give our students who had deployed parents “Hug a Hero” dolls! Just a little something to give them a little something to hug while their parent is away!
Want more ways to support military children? You can visit Operation Gratitude to learn more about their letter-writing program and to receive mailing instructions.
THANK YOU to all of our military families! Your Brookstone Family loves you!
