We held our spring Sprint® Closing Workshop for the Middle and Upper Schools last week and I wanted to share a little bit about what we discussed. Brookstone’s STAR Student 2022

Brookstone School is proud to announce its STAR Student/Teacher Award winners: Joe Hilsman and Mr. Matt Lage. The STAR Student Award goes to the Brookstone student with the highest SAT score on one given test; this student then competes on the local level to include twelve schools. Joe Hilsman is a member of the National English, Latin, Science, and Math Societies. He has been a member of the Honor Council for three years, Latin Club President, and Founder of the Pre-Med Club. Middle School Trip Week 2021

For the first time in two years, we were able to send our Middle School students out on the road for their annual class trips! Our 8th-graders headed to the beautiful moutains of Flat Rock, North Carolina to camp and hike. Our 7th-graders got to spend some time in lovely, historic Savannah, Georgia. And our 6th-grade students enjoyed a one day excursion to Desoto Caverns in Childersburg, Alabama. Though it was a rainy week for everyone, memories were made, life lessons learned, and fun was had by all!

Blanchard Leadership Institute Fall 2021 Update

It’s been a busy fall for the Blanchard Leadership Institute. We concluded the Faculty Sprint in August and the Upper School Sprint in September and we just got underway with the Middle School Sprint last week. We’ve been busy! But we’ve also been productive. Forest Fridays

We are so excited to announce the start of Forest Fridays here at Brookstone this fall! What is Forest Friday? Forest Friday is a weekly class for kindergarten through third grade. The class is about connecting with nature, outdoor learning, and instilling adventure and exploration in our students. Research shows that students get minimal outdoor time and are spending more time indoors in front of screens and various other technologies. Yet other research shows that more time outdoors has a positive impact on our students’ behavior, mental health, and academics.  On […]

Graduation 2021

Brookstone’s Graduation held special significance this year since it had been two years since our last full in person graduation! While we celebrated the Class of 2020 to the best of our ability in COVID-style, we were thrilled to be able to celebrate the Class of 2021 in the traditional manner! The Graduation festivities began with our Senior-Faculty dinner held at the beautiful Bibb Mill.
