How are you today?

One of the greatest things we’ve implemented here in our Lower and Intermediate School this year has been the door greeters. Designated students are asked to serve as greeters for their respective classes or division each week just to start off each day with a friendly hello. Nothing cuter in the world! Hope you have a great day!

Intermediate School Morning Meeting

The Intermediate School might just be one of the happiest places on campus! This past week, parents were invited to join in on the Morning Meeting to get a glimpse of what their children experience every day. After lots of dancing and singing, announcements were made, accolades were given, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited, and a mini spirit competition was held before sending them off to class. Wish I’d been able to start the school day this way! It was awesome! Enjoy!

Gratitude at Graduation

Graduation is an emotional time for parents. It’s a time of joy and celebration, but it is also marked with wistful reflection over how quickly time goes. This year, one of our faculty members wrote a heartfelt email to her colleagues upon the graduation of her oldest child. It was so beautifully written, I asked her if I could post it here. Thank you, Deana (aka Mama D), my sweet friend, for sharing these kind words with us. We love the Graham family! My friends, After all of the crying […]

Glass Blowing on the Quad

We have been celebrating the arts this spring, and yesterday, we were fortunate to have another incredibly talented artist visit our campus. Kelly Robertson, with Calvary Glass in Atlanta, spent most of the day sharing his gift with our students. Our youngest classes enjoyed choosing colors to accentuate a lovely glass flower, while the older students listened and asked questions about the physics and chemistry of glass blowing. The results? Absolutely beautiful!   Thank you to BPA and the Arts Alliance for making Kelly’s visit possible and all the many unique […]

Brookstone Science Academy

The study of science is happening at all levels in all divisions at Brookstone, but there is one group of students who is digging in a little deeper. Offered as part of our Brookstone Extended enrichment programs, the Brookstone Academy is offered after school once a week for eight weeks, instructed by Mrs. Cynthia Lingo, Upper School science teacher and department chair. This past semester, students in 4th-8th grades who had a particular interest in science experimentation and exploration were a part of the class. The curriculum includes life science, chemistry, […]
