Please join us in congratulating Duncan Fletcher, Class of 2013, for being awarded the prestigious NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship! Furman University, where Duncan is currently a senior, shared the news last week in a press release. Furman University football player Duncan Fletcher has been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, it has been announced. Congratulations, Drew Webb, Class of 2016, and current Columbus State University student on being named the Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Week! From their website… In two conference games at UNC Pembroke over the weekend, Webb went a combined 3-for-6 with a home run and three RBIs.  Paying in right field, he opened with a 2-for-3 outing, driving in a run and walking twice in a 12-2 win.  In game two he hit the game-winning two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning as CSU won 5-3.  The […]

Science and Math Winners

Congratulations to our recent math and science winners! These 8th grade and upper school projects placed in the top 3 in their respective Science and Mathematics categories. Five of the 12 projects awarded here were selected for the State STEM competition in Athens, and there were only 20 selected to advance all together. That is a five out of twenty of the science fair projects advancing to the state competition were by Brookstone students. Brookstone v. Fugees

Thursday afternoon was a special time for our Varsity Soccer teams and the whole Brookstone family . . . You may have heard of Luma Mufleh. She was named one of CNN’s Top 10 Heros for 2016. Luma is an American-educated Jordanian woman who founded a youth soccer team (they call themselves the Fugees) to unify Clarkston’s refugee children and keep them off the streets. I just had to share the following Facebook post from a grateful parent about her recent parent/teacher conference… Just finished a routine Parent-Teacher conference in the Intermediate School at Brookstone…I sat for an hour and listened to these amazing teachers bounce stories, ideas, and thoughts around about my child that made me laugh and cry…Where else would SO MANY teachers KNOW my son inside and out and LOVE my son inside and out?
