Cougar Nation Athletic News and Honors
Congratulations are in order to the following senior athletes!
First – Congratulations to senior Wes Pahl on his decision to continue his academic and athletic career at Western Kentucky University!
Wes chose Western Kentucky over several other opportunities and we are excited to watch his career continue with the Hilltoppers.
Coach Blair Harrison shared the following comments: “Words cannot express how proud I am of Wes for earning the opportunity to continue his academic and football career at Western Kentucky. They are getting a great young man as well as a great kicking specialist. Congratulations Wes! Brookstone is extremely proud of you!”
Wes had a great career for the Cougars handling both punting and placekicking. His senior year he averaged 40 yards per punt and connected on 8 of 13 field-goal attempts, including a 48-yarder. During a preseason scrimmage, he also connected on a 52-yarder. For his performances this year he was named 2019 Region 4A Special Teams player of the Year, All Bi-City, and he was selected to play in the GACA All-Star game. Wes was also the recipient of the Sports Vision Wallace Davis Special Teams Award.
The Brookstone family is so excited for Wes and look forward to celebrating with him in the near future. Congratulations, Wes!
In other athletic news, congrats to senior Clark Smith!
Clark was chosen as the West Georgia regional winner of the Positive Athlete award for football. The Positive Athlete organization celebrates young athletes who have given back to their schools and communities in a significant way and share a positive attitude that makes everyone around them a better person.
Way to go, Clark! We can’t wait to watch you play at Tufts next year!
