Happy “Spring Break!”

It’s “Spring Break” this week. That’s in quotes because who would have ever thought Spring Break 2020 would look the way it does. Normally this week is filled with school trips, family vacations, and time with friends. Brookstone had one school trip scheduled to travel to South Africa, to go on Safari and explore the homeland of our Upper and Middle School Principal, Garry Sullivan. We had another one scheduled to travel to Oxford, England, our annual trip to visit Spencer House. (You can read about that trip in 2019 […]

A Zoom Homeroom!

Among the many things we are grateful for, we are grateful for the folks at Zoom, who have allowed us all to remain close even when we are apart! Thank you, Zoom!

Brookstone Parents say “Thank you!”

We know the past few weeks have been extraordinary in every way – from what is happening in the world around us to the adaptations we are all having to make. Our teachers have truly gone above and beyond in taking what they do in their classrooms every day and moving it online. They have not been satisfied with simply providing work to be completed, but they have been dedicated to providing our students with experiences that make them feel like they are right back in their classrooms! But of […]

Brookstone DLP Week One!

Every year around the New Year, I pray and ponder over choosing one word to focus on for the rest of the year – kind of like a theme for the year. My word for 2020 was “new.” There was going to be a lot of “new” for me in 2020 – a wedding for my oldest son, and along with that a new daughter-in-law, a new phase of life for them and for our family.  So at the time, I thought that word was appropriate. I would focus on […]

Brookstone Distance Learning Plans

Since January, the Brookstone Admin team has been meeting continuously with regard to COVID-19. At first, our main area of concern was the health and safety of our international students and their families. However, our concerns quickly grew as the news began to change. We began planning and preparing and putting things into place just in case we had to shift to online learning. So when we indeed had to make the decision to move to an all-online platform, it did not catch us off guard. We were ready.  We’ve […]
