The sun has been shining and temperatures are beginning to rise, so our students have enjoyed being outside a little more recently. We’re so grateful for our beautiful campus and the spaces our students can learn and play. Spring can’t get here fast enough! Enjoy!
In January, Brookstone celebrated the contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by honoring the theme of “Voices of Change.” The overall purpose of this theme was twofold: to remember the strength, perseverance, and integrity of one who is the voice of one of history’s quintessential movements for change and to know that his legacy continues on in all of us. Congratulations are in order to the following winter athletes for their recent accomplishments! We are so proud of them! CheerleadingOur Competition Cheerleading Team placed 3rd in the state finals recently! Swimming The Varsity Girls Swim Team placed 4th in the state meet. Among their accomplishments: the relay team placed 3rd in 400 freestyle, Holly Mattson placed 5th in the 500 freestyle and 6th in the 200 freestyle, and Alex Leary placed 5th in 200 IM. In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy, Brookstone hosted the Voices of Change week in January to celebrate kindness, equality, and positive contributions to society. Virtual “Poetry Slams,” art mural submissions ensued and the week culminated with all students considering what Voices of Change means to them and how they can positively impact their communities. The Blanchard Leadership Institute began the second Sprint® of the 2020-2021 school year on Monday, January 4th, with the entire Brookstone faculty participating.
