Annual Senior/Faculty Competition – The Grill-Off

Every year, the seniors and faculty spend the spring locked in a fierce competition! Yesterday was the annual “Grill-Off!” Seniors G Barnes, Andrew Ogletree, Stuart Sherrer, and Frank Waldrep went head to head over the best burger with Jacob Crowder and Jimmy Thompson. Our admin team got to stand in as the un-biased judges! It was truly a tough competition, as both were delicious, but the seniors pulled out the victory! Their burgers were DELICIOUS!

This Food is So Good…

It’s a comment we hear all the time from visitors…our cafeteria food is delicious. There are so many options, so many choices, you can always find something to eat! It’s also healthy – which is something that Sage Dining, our cafeteria vendor, works very hard to ensure. Not only did they receive a perfect score of 100 from the surprise health inspector earlier this week, but they seek to educate our students on making healthy choices every day through their Spotlight Program. All of our food entrees and items are […]

Cub Track 2017

One of my favorite events every year, our annual Cub Track meet was held yesterday! It was a little rainy, but nothing could dampen the enthusiasm of our little athletes. And nothing is more precious than our high school students working right alongside our lower school students. Coaching, encouraging and cheering them on – watching our teenagers interact with our younger students is one of my absolute favorite things about Brookstone! Go Cougs!

Oxford Trip 2017

For the past seven years Brookstone School has collaborated with Columbus State University in offering a Spring Break trip to Oxford, England and a stay in the Spencer House.  Both Brookstone and Columbus State University have benefited from the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Spencer over the years, and having access to the home they made available to CSU has been wonderful. This annual educational trip is a student favorite and offers the opportunity to visit many well known sites in Oxford and beyond.  Highlights of the 2017 trip […]

8th Grade Art with Dr. Garry Pound

Mrs. Cile Bone’s art class has recently had the privilege to work with local artist, Garry Pound, creating a collage representing one of the paintings from his book, Oliviatown. The group’s work is now part of an amazing exhibit of Dr. Pound’s work, and that of his artist parents, which kicked off Artbeat and will hang at the Bradley Museum downtown for two months. Today these kids got to tour the exhibit, hear Dr. Pound discuss his work, and ask him questions. It was quite an opportunity!
