We have a beautiful campus.

Sometimes, there are just no words to describe how beautiful our campus is. And pictures certainly do not do it justice. But I often just have to snap a picture of our beautiful campus and our students outside enjoying it because it is one of the things I love most – seeing students enjoying, studying, relaxing and spending time together outside. College and Book Awards

Last week, we celebrated our underclassmen with a variety of awards and honors given for scholastic achievement over the course of the school year. However, among the most impressive honors given are those bestowed on members of the junior class who were honored for their accomplishments by several colleges and universities. Sydney Weaver, All-American

Congratulations to Sydney Weaver, Class of 2013, on her recent selection as an WGCA All-American golfer! What an accomplishment! She is Brookstone’s very first female athlete to be named an All-American. Berry College recently made the announcement in a press release: Weaver, a senior from Columbus, Ga., joins a short list of Vikings to earn All-America honors as the first since 2009 and just the fifth ever female golfer to earn the prestigious recognition. Applied Leadership and the House of Heroes

Our Applied Leadership class recently went and served with House of Heroes. This class, one of the many electives offered for juniors and seniors, is also made up of students who have participated in the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy program this year. The seven Leader Labs provided by Chick-fil-A were incorporated into the class curriculum which focuses on self-awareness, decision making, communication, and leadership styles. It was a wonderful day for the ground breaking ceremony of the Cheves Athletic Center last week! The crowd came out despite the heat to share in the excitement of this new project! The CAC will be home to locker rooms and a concessions area and multi-purpose classrooms and meeting rooms, but perhaps the most exciting component is the museum that will tell the story of the history of Brookstone Athletics.
