It’s not often that we have our current students featured in a national magazine, but we celebrate them when it happens! Congratulations to senior Princess Ali, who was featured recently in the online version of Teen Vogue for her artistic endeavors. Ali plans to continue her pursuit of art after graduation as she plans to attend Savannah College and Art and Design in the fall. Congratulations, Princess! Blue and White Day and Country Fair were both held last week! Both of these long-held traditions spotlight what an awesome thing it is to be all one school – from 3K-12th Grade! Opening Ceremonies and a few of the indoor events were held in the gym before moving the games outside. There was a fierce battle between the Blue and the White Teams, with events being hard fought and won, but this year, the Blue team pulled through in the end and clinched the title! But more than who […]
Our Alumni Office took a trip to the University of Georgia last week to take a few of our young alumni out to dinner! Because once a Cougar, always a Cougar – and what college student doesn’t love a free meal! The best part about being a part of the Brookstone family is that you are ALWAYS a part of the Brookstone family! Just to give you one example, the parents of one of our young alumni pictured above, sent Meg Godfrey, our Alumni Coordinator, to Athens with some things […]
Twenty-six years ago, a school record was set in the girls 4x400m. Just last week, these strong young women – Wells Roberts, Eva Sullivan, Anna Kate Helton, and Adrianna Hamilton – decimated that record, setting a new one of their own. The best part? With two freshman and two juniors, they’ll be back next year. To set even more records. Kudos to Coach Crowder and his staff for encouraging and pushing these student-athletes to do their best.
This past week was spectacular on our campus! The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and everything beautiful about spring was in the air! As we prepared for the annual Spring Arts Festival, our fabulous fine arts department brought art and music outside for everyone to enjoy! So classes of all kinds ventured outdoors, relishing the warmer weather, and learning from the beautiful environment that makes up our campus. It also was time for our third annual Market on the Quad! Gorgeous flowers and delicious homemade goods were on […]
Over spring break, 27 energetic Upper School students joined our two college counselors, Frances Berry and Jon Terrell, for our 18th Annual College Tour. That’s right! 18 years of college tours. That is impressive. Each year, our college counseling office takes a group of students to visit more than a dozen colleges on one of three routes. The 2019 tour focused on many of the schools in the Carolinas – going to 14 in total! That’s 14 schools in one week! Furman University Clemson University Wofford College University of South […]
Our students were BUSY over Spring Break! Many were traveling with families or enjoying a staycation at home, but one special group of seniors was able to go on the 19th annual trip to Oxford, England and stay at the Spencer House. The Spencer House on Woodstock Road in Oxford, England is owned by Columbus State University. The purchase of the house was made possible through the generosity of Mr. & Mrs. J. Kyle Spencer, loyal supporters of both CSU and Brookstone School. In 2010, through guidance from Interim Headmaster […]
