A Letter from Mr. Garry Sullivan, Head of Upper and Middle Schools Good evening students, I know the message you received from Mr. Lester yesterday was not what you, or any of us, would have wanted to hear. Online learning will continue for the rest of the school year. As difficult as it was to read, know that it was incredibly difficult for him to write. To my Senior Class of 2020 – We can’t begin to understand the emotions you are experiencing about your senior year being stripped away from you […]
Prospective Brookstone Families, Please see the letter below from Marty Lester, our Head of School, sent last week to our Brookstone families. As a school, we are not alone in making these hard decisions. It is an unprecedented time for all of us everywhere. I am grateful for the leadership of our administrative team at Brookstone and for the incredible amount of hard work they have put forth to ensure the remainder of the school year, though it will look different, will be productive, effective, and memorable to say the […]
It’s “Spring Break” this week. That’s in quotes because who would have ever thought Spring Break 2020 would look the way it does. Normally this week is filled with school trips, family vacations, and time with friends. Brookstone had one school trip scheduled to travel to South Africa, to go on Safari and explore the homeland of our Upper and Middle School Principal, Garry Sullivan. We had another one scheduled to travel to Oxford, England, our annual trip to visit Spencer House. (You can read about that trip in 2019 […]
Distance Learning couldn’t stop our 2nd Annual Vocabulary Parade! This year, we just held the parade digitally. We have the most precious families and wonderful parents in the world! Or maybe I should choose some more descriptive words for such an occasion – remarkable, awe-inspiring, stupendous, and flat-out fabulous come to mind! Enjoy! We’ve just finished week two of our Distance Learning Plan! Congrats Cougars! That’s quite an accomplishment! You continue to amaze us in the ways you are creating, connecting, collaborating and caring! We are blessed with the most wonderful community. Some highlights you may have already seen here, here or here. But there were many more – too many to even highlight! So enjoy a few of the other brights spots from the week as we continue to connect to one another as a Brookstone family and yet stay home to […]
Among the many things we are grateful for, we are grateful for the folks at Zoom, who have allowed us all to remain close even when we are apart! So what’s a first-grade class to do when they can’t be together? They have a Zoom Homeroom, of course! What a wonderful way to allow these little ones to see and talk to their friends! Thank you, Zoom!
We are so grateful for our Cougar Family! This social distancing is impacting us all in a variety of ways – not only as students but as athletes as well! Below is a message from our Athletic Director, Jimmy Messer. It’s just a little check-in with all of those who are missing their spring sports seasons! We love you guys! Every chance I get I want to lift up our teachers and give them the thanks and praise they deserve for all the work they are pouring into our kids during this time of social distancing and at-home learning! So today’s thanks goes to Dr. Maguire, the Assistant Middle School Principal for his Wacky and Weird Wednesday quarantine tune! He’s the best! Enjoy!
