As we prepare to launch the Class of 2019 into the world, it is with a heart full of mixed emotions. Joy – because we know how much we know they have to look forward to. We know they are ready. We know they are prepared. And we know they will do great things to better the world around them.

But we also know how much they will be missed. And how our world will be a little emptier without them in it every day – without seeing their smiling faces on campus and hearing their laughter in the halls. Such is the complex nature of growing up and letting go. It’s not easy and it was never intended to be.

So enjoy this video celebrating your college choices! It makes me cry every time.
