Justin Hopf – Brookstone’s STAR Student

The STAR Student program honors Georgia’s highest achieving high school seniors and the teachers who have been most instrumental in their academic development. Since its creation in 1958 by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the STAR (Student Teacher Achievement Recognition) program has honored nearly 27,000 students, who have in turn chosen their STAR Teachers to share in this recognition. Agricolga Wins Local Grant

For the past two years, Brookstone’s Agri-Colga Club, which manages the vegetable gardens outside our cafeteria, has been going to Fox Elementary School every Tuesday after school to develop an on-campus garden. Working together with the same group of 4th and 5th graders, the students have built six raised beds at Fox and have implemented planting and harvest plans, teaching the students how to plant and grow their own vegetables.  Recently, the WC Bradley Company and Columbus Food Oasis (the local chapter of Georgia Organics which promotes healthy, local food for our […]

Friday Fundays!

There’s a lot of pressure in schools these days – grades, test scores, academic performance, college acceptances, etc., etc. All of these things are important, of course, but all these things can lead to stress and anxiety in our kids, too.
