New York Trip to Carnegie Hall

Our students were busy over spring break (more blog posts to follow!) But one trip, in particular, gave some of our Upper School students the chance of a lifetime – the opportunity to perform in Carnegie Hall! The 2019 A Private Literary Meet was held on our campus this week, and we were honored to host three other schools (St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School, Trinity Christian School, and Wesleyan School) for the event. Sam Grier – WLTZ Scholar Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to senior Sam Grier, the WLTZ Scholar Athlete of the Week. Sam, who plays both varsity basketball and soccer, also maintains a 4.2 GPA. A student athlete with a servant’s heart, he has also partnered with local law enforcement officials to spearhead the collection of more than 1000 duffel bags for children in foster care through his Totes 2 Tots program. Marianna is a talented multi-sport athlete who is a leader on any team she’s a part of  – and she’s only a sophomore. Brookstone Mock Trial Team Wins Region

Congratulations to the members of the Brookstone Mock Trial Team! They recently won the Region title in last Saturday’s competition in Albany, Georgia, defeating Northside High School in the final around. The team will move on to the district tournament on February 23rd as the Region’s top seed. Individual awards were also given to team members. Agri-ColGa Plants Gardens at Fox

The Agri-Colga student group from Brookstone spent time recently filling the planting beds at our partner school,  Fox Elementary! These upper school students are mentoring Fox students this spring teaching them how to grow their own healthy vegetables at their school. Students in the program, initiated and led by senior Emma Yancey, will go to Fox once a week after school to work with a designated group of students. We can’t see what “grows” out of this beautiful partnership!
